10/8 Leaving on a jet plane

My kind friend Colleen got up early to take me to the airport. Upside - we saw the lunar eclipse. Downside - it was early and the moon was still out. Not only did she give me a ride, but she also gave me a fresh loaf of pumpkin bread for the plane ride.

Thanks again Colleen!

So bag weighed in at 49.5 lbs! I almost walked out of my apartment without my jacket, but did remember before it was too late. For carry on, I packed some fruit - apples and oranges. Also have a bunch of movies loaded on to iPad.

As I think about this trip, I think what I am anxious about most is not having control. I'm going to be dependent on my friend Leon, his mother Teresa, and his friends/family. As you know, I have some issues with independence and control (maybe???). Hopefully along this trip, I will have some self discoveries that letting others lead is okay and I can still exist in that space.

Okay enough deep insights into Ashley! Here is the sign that the Beijing family made to greet us at the airport.

How sweet is that? Team ARG is heading your way! I hope China is ready for us because we are ready for it.
